How Often Should I Service My 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan?
Volkswagen unveiled the Tiguan in 2008, providing buyers with a solid midsized SUV with a quality VW interior, and a powerful turbocharged engine. Fast forward to 2018, the Tiguan got a facelift. The second-generation Tiguan is longer, wider, and features the modern 2.0 TSI B-Cycle engine, optimized for power and efficiency. 2018 Tiguan’s can be found with pretty low miles and are fairly affordable. If you own one or just picked one up second hand, you might be wondering what maintenance schedule you should be following. In this article, we are going to go over the maintenance schedule for the 2018 Tiguan.
Regular Maintenance is Important
Modern vehicles like your Tiguan are generally reliable and will run for years to come. The best way to bolster reliability and get the most out of your car is regular maintenance. Fresh fluids and filters help prevent issues, and regular inspections can catch minor problems before they become more severe.

Air Filter and Oil Change Frequency
While Volkswagen recommends an oil change interval of 10,000 miles, we recommended having this service done every 7500 or less. More frequent oil changes help protect your engine and keep it running longer. If your vehicle has driven over 100,00 miles, performing oil changes even more frequently, around every 5000 miles, is best.
For those living in dry, dusty climates like our customers in Utah, it’s beneficial to change your cabin air and engine air filter more frequently than recommended by Volkswagen. Excessive particles in the air can quickly clog a filter, choking out your engine and lowering the air quality inside your car while you drive.
